About Moshae Donald

WHO WE REPRESENT.

Moshae is a native of Mobile, Alabama, specifically from the Toulminville community. She is the owner and founder of the Law Office of Moshae Donald. Moshae leads a thriving private practice representing municipal governments, federal and local government agencies, as well as families and children.

Founding her own practice allows Moshae to spread her legal representation to municipalities, communities, and clients who need zealous but informed representation the most. Moshae has continually been recognized by National Trial Lawyers and other prestigious organizations for her aggressive representation of the most vulnerable among us.

Moshae received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (a historically Black university) and graduated summa cum laude. At Alabama A&M, she was a Presidential Scholar and Executive Vice-President of the student body. Thereafter, she earned her Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University. While a recipient of Vanderbilt’s prestigious law scholar merit award, she also earned the Top Litigator Award through the school’s competitive Mock Trial Board. While in law school, Moshae studied in Venice, Italy through Vanderbilt’s Vanderbilt in Venice Program. There she studied international copyright law, counter-terrorism, and European Union law.

Her experience includes work with one of the largest civil defense firms in the Southeast, the Department of Justice, representation of Mobile County Public Schools teachers and personnel, representation of municipalities in Alabama, a thriving federal practice with federal government agencies as clients, as well representing families and children in domestic and criminal matters. Moshae has also served as both prosecutor and public defender for municipalities in Mobile County and has litigated hundreds of criminal trials.

Moshae is currently active with the ICU Mental Health Program and Legal Services. Additionally, she is an alumna of Connect Mobile, Class of 2016 and Project Chair for Paint the Town Blue (an autism awareness project); alumna of Leadership Mobile, Class of 2019 and Alabama Leadership Initiative, Class of 2020.  A past President-Elect of Mobile United, Moshae was also a Board Member for the 3 Mile Creek Partnership advocating for environmental and watershed justice near the community where she grew up.

In 2019, Moshae was showcased on the front cover of the Mobile Bay Magazine’s Mobile’s Top 40 Under 40 edition. That same year, Moshae was honored with the prestigious Boys and Girls Club Distinguished Alumni Award. Accepting especially touching or personal cases is a commitment that Moshae Donald has also made to her community.

In 2022, Moshae Donald was the Democratic Nominee Candidate for Mobile County District Attorney.  She was the first African-American to ever run for the role.

Family law issues encompass so many aspects of life.  Family law is a legal practice area that focuses on issues involving family relationships such as marriage, adoption, divorce, etc.  These are matters of the heart and can be highly emotional, especially in cases concerning children, precious assets, and heartbreak.  It is important that when navigating these cases, you have an attorney that is both aggressive and compassionate.

The Law Office of Moshae Donald often represents clients in complex family law matters including divorce, child support, custody, contempt, dependency, name changes, adoptions, paternity, prenuptial agreements and more.

If you sustained injuries due to someone else while driving, you may be entitled to compensation. You may be entitled to recovery of medical bills, and loss of income in the past and future. In addition, you could be entitled to damages for pain and suffering, permanent scarring, or the loss of impairment to any bodily function. We could fight to recover damages for each type of loss.

Types of MVA’s
There are various types of motor vehicle accidents that may allow you compensation, such as cars, taxis, buses, trains, and commercial trucks or semi-tractor-trailers. In particular train, trucking and bus accident cases are complex. These cases require a thorough understanding of federal rules and regulations, vehicle dynamics, accident reconstruction and vehicle computer systems (electronic control module or ECM). Not every attorney is familiar with the complex issues involved in these cases, and even fewer attorneys are prepared to take these cases to trial. Our trial lawyers work to resolve truck and bus accident cases outside of court whenever possible, but we are always ready to go to trial if that is the best way to protect our clients’ interests.

Municipal Law is the representation of cities, towns, counties and other governmental units, including representation of economic development corporations and sewer/water authorities.  Additionally, lawyers are often involved in municipal law issues while navigating zoning processes related to the construction of single-family homes, subdivisions, commercial project, and industrial development projects.

The Law Office of Moshae Donald often represents public body clients with municipal issues, including: ordinance drafting and prosecution, taxation, building code and inspection issues, condemnation, zoning ordinance enforcement, land use, annexation issues, and sewer and water system questions.

The landscape of NCAA athletics is changing, and fast.  Moshae works to aid NCAA student-athletes by putting them in position to appropriately and intelligently navigate compliance challenges while taking advantage of new changes.  This practice helps current and potential NCAA athletes protect their eligibility while negotiating endorsements and deals arising out of their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

Attorney Moshae Donald will provide contract drafting, contract review, and legal advice when an athlete is entering into an approved NIL relationship, and more.  Engaging in the business of monetizing your name, image, and likeness is a serious matter that necessitates competent representation.  The Law Office of Moshae Donald is NOT a sports agent.

When another person or business causes an accident or injuries, they should make the situation right without roadblocks or hassle. However, businesses and insurance companies make money by paying out as little as possible. If you or a loved one was in an accident or injured, you should fight to receive the compensation you deserve.

Types of Cases

We handle cases for a variety of personal injury matters, including: motor vehicle accidents (such as car, trucking, motorcycle, train, bus, and taxi), pedestrian accidents, nursing home abuse, premises liability, products liability, medical malpractice, slip and falls, wrongful death, burns, paraplegia or quadriplegia, brain and spinal  injuries, head and neck injuries, broken bones/fractures, soft tissue injuries, chronic pain injuries, and illnesses.

Compensation
In the past, we represented the at-fault parties such as businesses and insurance companies, so we are well positioned to anticipate our opponents’ next move and achieve optimal result for our clients. Time is of the essence when it comes to pursuing accident and injury compensation, so it is in your best interest to build a case as quickly as possible. Ultimately, attorneys are an extension of their clients. You must decide who you want on your side, protecting your rights and telling your story — because the way your story is told will have
a major impact on how juries see you and make decisions about you. Without an effective attorney telling your story, a jury will never understand or empathize with you.

Property owners, operators, and managers have a responsibility to make their property safe for individuals. If they fail in their duties, then they may be held responsible for the injuries that result.

Types of Premises Liabilities

Landowners may be responsible for injuries caused by various issues, including:

  • Exposure to toxic or hazardous substances
  • Dog bites
  • Construction or job-site accidents
  • Injuries caused by hazards in abandoned buildings, trampolines, pools, and playgrounds

If you or a loved one suffered injury while on someone else’s property, it is important to consult an experienced premises liability attorney before answering any questions from investigators or insurance companies.

The law provides accident protection for workers injured at work or on-the-job. The injured worker is entitled to receive compensation for loss of income and medical benefits. This is known as workers’ compensation.

Whether you have questions about workers’ compensation, been denied workers’ compensation benefits, or you simply want to ensure your workers’ compensation benefits continue, we are here to assist you.

Generally, a wrongful death is as an instance in which an individual passes away due to negligence or other misconduct of another person or business. Negligence is a person or business not acting responsibly, while misconduct may be reckless behavior or intentional harm committed by them.

If an untimely death resulted from the recklessness, negligence, or deliberate act of another, then the victim deserves justice. If that is your family member, then you need to speak with a wrongful death attorney. We could help you seek the justice and compensation the victim and you are owed.
